Overview
Blizzfrost is a fast 24 Energy Legendary Scout. Its Ability is called Icy Grip. It has a 7s base Ability Cooldown (can be reduced to 4.9s with Implants) and 5s base duration (can be increased to 6.5s with Implants). The Ability grips all enemies within a 30m radius from the Mech (can be increased up to 39m with Implants) if they are standing on roughly the same elevation as Blizzfrost. While the Ability is active, gripped Mechs cannot move and use any movement-based Abilities.
Blizzfrost deals damage and receives reduced damage, immunity to the stasis effect, and a 20% speed boost during the Ability.
- If 0 Mechs are in the Ability area: 50% Damage Reduction.
- If 1 Mech is in the Ability area: 62.5% Damage Reduction
- If 2 or more Mechs are in the Ability area, 75% Damage Reduction.
Note: Blizzfrost can disable Eclipse's Ability without putting it on cooldown. This traps Eclipse, just like every other Mech, and the disabling of the ability entirely removes Eclipse's stealth and debuff immunity.
Recommended Builds:
1. Blizzfrost Compound Beams: This build complements Blizzfrost extremely well. Perfect for maps with a good amount of cover. Use the beam mode from a safe distance and, when safe to do so, rush them directly, use the Ability on them, and run in circles. The stasis effect will ensure you can always hit their back. Use the Blast mode from the beam as much as possible when you are in the range to do so, alternating blasts from both arms to maximize the stun duration. Recommended implants in order: Ability Cooldown > Compound Beam Range > Ability Radius > Compound Beam Damage
2. Blizzfrost Geminis: This build is much more appropriate in open CPC/5v5 maps without many obstacles in between. This build is generally meant to be used at mid-long range, although the Ability can be used to rush with teammates. Recommended implants in order: Gemini Reload > Gemini Damage > Ability Cooldown > Ability Radius.
Alternative Builds:
If the builds above are not an option, then these builds can be used instead:
1. Blizzfrost Burrow Beams: This is a flexible build that is preferred at close range, but the weapon allows it to hit mid-range targets too if needed, usually while using the Ability just for the damage resistance. At close range, it can be used both offensively and defensively. Recommended implants in order: Burrow Beam Magazine > Burrow Beam Fire Rate > Burrow Beam Damage > Ability Cooldown.
2. Blizzfrost Charge Rockets: This build gives Blizzfrost a lot of mobility and flexibility in terms of positioning. It's best suited in the mid range since getting too close could leave you vulnerable, especially if someone with a stun build gets you. Recommended implants in order: Charge Rocket Range > Charge Rocket Damage > Charge Rocket Speed Boost > Ability Cooldown
