Parasite is a legendary 24-Energy Tank Mech. Its ability is Redirection, which allows it to link itself to an enemy 85m away within line of sight. This can be activated through deployed shields like the one Aegis uses, but not through walls.
While linked, Parasite takes 10% of the damage dealt to it, while the enemy it is linked to takes 35%. This link can only be removed by waiting out the 12-second duration, escaping the Ability’s range of 110m, system-crashing the Parasite, or dying. The Ability will then go on cooldown for 11 seconds.
Recommended Builds
Parasite's main weakness is its lack of mobility; its top Weapon choices each have some way of making up for it.
1. Charge Rocket - Already a top choice before recent buffs and now truly cemented in its place, Charge rockets provide both high DPS and the mobility that Parasite so sorely needs.
2. Compound Beams - Another great pick for smaller maps. The Beam slows enemies down so they can be captured and repeatedly stunned at close range with 30m EMP blasts. However, on larger maps, Parasite may struggle to enter compound beam range in the first place.
3. Gemini - A versatile weapon that allows Parasite to fight competently at nearly any range. Serious damage and cycle rate, combined with the slowing debuff and ability to curve around walls, make Gemini excellent for cover play when the link is on cooldown, and Parasite is at its most vulnerable.
Parasite's greatest strength is its Ability, so Implants should prioritize it over Weapons. Ability Cooldown and Duration Implants should come first, followed by Ability Range, before the Weapon Implants come into consideration.
Note: In many cases, the Redirected Damage Implant is actively harmful. Parasites generally do not want the linked target to die faster since their survival is the source of their tankiness.
