How to verify your age — Google Play
- If verification is required for your account, Google Play will prompt you with a verification flow when you set up your account or access apps.
- Follow Google's on-screen instructions. Google supports several methods, which may include a government-issued ID, a credit card check, or other options offered in your region.
- You can review your age information in your Google Account settings under Personal info.
The verification itself is handled entirely by Google. We never receive your ID documents or payment details.
Why am I being asked about my age?
In some U.S. states, laws require app stores (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play) to verify the age of users when they create a new account. Depending on where you live and your app store's policies, you may be asked to confirm your age range before you can download or open apps.
As a game developer, we don't verify your age ourselves. We receive an age range signal from your app store and use it to apply the right access settings in the game.
If your app store has asked you to verify your age and you have not confirmed that you are over 18, you will not be able to access this game. If you are over 18 and can't get in, please complete age verification in your app store account settings — instructions for each platform are below.
Does this apply to me?
- These requirements currently apply in certain U.S. states only, and mainly to newly created app store accounts. If you created your Apple or Google account before the requirements took effect in your state, you may not be prompted.
- App stores may gradually extend these flows to more states or more users, so the exact experience can vary.
- If you are never prompted by your app store, there is nothing you need to do.
What information does the game receive?
We do not collect, see, or store your ID documents, payment details, or date of birth from the verification process. Your app store shares only an age range signal (for example, whether you are 18 or older) and, where relevant, parental approval status. We use this information solely to apply the required access settings, as permitted by law.
Troubleshooting
I'm over 18 but the game says I can't play.
Your app store account may not have a confirmed age range yet, or age sharing may be turned off. Complete the verification steps above, then restart the app.
I verified my age but still can't get in.
Age signals can take a short time to update. Make sure the app is updated to the latest version, restart your device, and try again. If the problem continues, contact our support team.
I'm in a state without these requirements. Why am I seeing this?
App stores sometimes apply parts of the verification experience more broadly to keep the process consistent. Follow the same steps above.
