In Mech Arena, the combination of high-level Gear, Pilot Implants, and Mods can create combat scenarios that seem impossible. This guide helps players distinguish between intended game mechanics, server synchronization issues, and actual unfair play.
Visual Anomalies & Data Synchronization
Many reports of "teleporting" or "shooting through walls" result from Server Synchronization.
- The Mechanic: Mech Arena relies on real-time data exchange. If your or your opponent's internet connection fluctuates, a Mech may appear to "jump" or "glitch" across the Map.
- The "Wall" Illusion: On your screen, you may have reached cover, but due to Latency (Ping), the server still sees your Mech in the open for a fraction of a second. This results in you being hit "behind a wall."
High-Level Survivability (God Mode vs. Mods)
With the introduction of Mods, some Mechs can survive hits that would normally destroy them. This is not "God Mode," but calculated equipment stacking.
- Multi-Layered Shields: As described in our Mods Article, Slot A and Slot B Mods (like Blockade ML or Canopy) provide additional layers of protection. You must deplete these before the Mech's main HP bar moves.
- Galvanic Hull (Slot D): This Mod specifically absorbs bonus damage from side and back hits. If your "backstabs" are doing base damage, the opponent likely has a high-level Galvanic Hull equipped.
-
Pilot Synergy: A Legendary Pilot with maxed HP Implants combined with a Hardened Hull (Slot C) Mod can increase a Mech's effective health by over 50-70%.
Aiming & Targeting Myths
- Certain Weapon behaviors are often mistaken for "Auto-Aim" or "Wallhacks."
- Curved Trajectories: Javelin Racks and Helix Racks can be tilted to fire over tall buildings. If you are hit from above, it is likely a Guided weapon mechanic.
- Splash Damage Logic: Skilled players use Disk Launchers to aim at the ground or walls next to you. The explosion radius ignores the physical cover you are standing behind.
- Wide-Angle Locks: Some Weapons have a wide lock-on cone. A player doesn't always need to aim directly at you to initiate a hit.
Movement Speed: High-Speed Tactics vs. Speed Hacks
Distinguishing between a fast Mech and a "Speed Hack" requires understanding how certain Mechs and equipment interact.
Legitimate Speed Boosters:
- Mech Class: Scout Mechs (like Killshot or Lancer) have a naturally higher base speed than Tank or Support classes.
- Abilities: Mechs like Surge, Killshot, or Nomad use Dash abilities that allow them to cross large distances instantly.
- Pilot Implants: "Ability Cooldown" Implants can reduce the wait time between Dashes, making it appear as though a Mech is constantly moving at high speeds.
Identifying Speed Hacks:
- Constant Velocity: A cheat is likely occurring if a heavy Mech (like a Brickhouse or Bastion) is moving at the speed of a Scout Mech without using any abilities.
- Unnatural Acceleration: If a Mech maintains "Dash speed" for the entire duration of a match across the whole Map, this is a sign of a modified game client.
How to Verify a Cheater
Before submitting a report, we recommend reviewing the opponent's loadout and behavior in the Post-Match screen:
Player Stats
- Likely a Mechanic: A high win rate is common for players with maxed-out Gear and high-level Pilots.
- Likely a Cheat: A win rate exceeding 90% on an account with low-rank Mechs and basic Weapons is a significant red flag.
Equipment & Loadouts
- Likely a Mechanic: If a Mech seems "invincible," check their hangar for Legendary Pilots and Multi-Layered Mods.
- Likely a Cheat: If a player has no Pilots or Mods equipped but consistently takes zero damage from high-powered attacks.
Movement & Agility
- Likely a Mechanic: A Mech using bursts of speed followed by a cooldown period, or a Scout Mech simply being faster than your Tank.
- Likely a Cheat: A Mech consistently moving faster than its maximum possible stats without using an ability.
How to Report
- Take a screenshot or screen recording of the behavior
- Go to the Player Profile from the battle log
- Tap the Report button
Note: Our QA team closely monitors such mechanics. While we work to ensure Mech Arena delivers a visual experience equal to AAA games, please keep in mind that some issues may be caused by data synchronization. If you need further assistance, please let us know via: https://bit.ly/4ahjOYh
